A Baltimore County judge sentenced two teenage boys Tuesday for pouring a caustic chemical on a playground slide that burned a little boy.
The judge sentenced them to home detention and supervised probation. They must also do 500 hours of community service and reimburse Baltimore County $700. That is what the county spent on clean up.
A 3 year old boy had second and 3rd degree burns on legs and back.
I can not understand why teenagers are doing this kind of stuff. Can someone explain to me do you fault the teenagers or do you fault the parents??????
What can go thru these kids mind to do sorta of thing. I never once even came close to think that. To cause harm to another for the heck of it.
What do you guys think??????

You can see my reply on the judge's question sentence over at my blog here.
Well i blame it on the up bringing of the children. I raised 2 boys they are 20 and 21 now, both graduated HS, one is a home care aid, the other is in the Army. Never in their wildest dreams have they ever been caught or dared to do something that stupid. They were raised by the "Old School".
I am very proud of my boys and what they have become.
To this day they still call their elders, Mr. or Mrs.
Teens like this need to be put in a home like a boot camp, and straighten there asses out.
I would give those two teens a whooping their parents could feel!
Those two teenagers targeted little children. Who did they THINK were going to go down the slide?! This is seriously dangerous behavior and if the parents... scratch that, the proper authority-doesn't act on this properly, it's only going to get worse. The parents deserve a strike on their record too for allowing this sort of thing to become of their children.
And in my opinion the judge made good choices: house arrest, probation (kids don't belong in prison), community service, and restitution. HOWEVER, I feel the two teenagers need some sort of re-educating and counseling. I don't know if this is part of the probationary terms as most entail.
As much as I think what these two boys did was terrible, I really don't believe the intent was to hurt anyone. I'm thinking the scene played out more like....
Let's see if we can melt this plastic slide with some acid we have... oh well guess not... along comes little boy and burns his legs on it. I don't think the two teens had any intention of hurting little kids.... doing an at home science project- yes... Not being very smart- yes... Intentionally harming a little kid- no.

Townie-
I sure hope they had no intent on harming anyone. I just dont understand or dont know if they had any kind of an idea that this would ultimately could cause harm to someone and now if they did try than something needs to be done but unsure of the intentions. hopefully they were not trying to harm.
Townie-
Unfortunately we will never know the truth of intent. What we do know is that their actions harmed another individual. Not expecting a victim only proves their lack of educated sense.
What wrong with kids these days? The whole "It Takes A Village" theory! People need to take responsibility for raising their own children instead of expecting the school to do it. Many kids go into daycare at 2 weeks.
